FOUNDATIONS OF PAINTING - BASIC TECHNIQUES AND COLOUR THEORY

Unlock the essentials of painting in this introductory 2 day course at The Herringbone Studio. Perfect for beginners…
Day 1 Class covers foundational techniques and colour theory and begin applying your skills to a composition.
Day 2 We will explore complimentary colours, shadows and highlights and complete your composition.
You’ll learn brush handling, blending, layering, and how to mix colours effectively to achieve harmony and contrast. This course offers a relaxed, hands-on environment, making it easy to build your skills and gain confidence with paint. Leave with a solid foundation to start your artistic journey!
2 day course – Groups of 2 to 4 students max – £60 per day class
SELF EXPRESSION - PAINT WHATEVER YOU FEEL
Perfect for newcomers and those that want to learn the basics – Easy!
Art is the purest form of self expression, its the perfect way to get down a story, a thought, feelings or visions of whatever or wherever your mind takes you.
In this 2hr session you have the luxury of choosing your medium, be it acrylic, watercolour or oil you can paint whatever you feel like in a relaxed environment with all the coffee, tea and biscuits you desire and paint to your hearts content.
Your trainer will be there for any tools, paint or whatever you need and music of your choice to get your group in the mood for art.

MOOD BOARDING - VISION, MANIFEST AND EXPRESS IDEAS
Perfect for newcomers and those that want to learn the basics – Easy!
In this joyful, hands-on session, you’ll dive into the world of mood boarding and collage, snipping, sticking, layering, and dreaming your way through ideas big and small. No rules, no pressure—just paper, glue, and pure imagination. Whether you’re brewing a new project or just feeling crafty, this is your space to play, explore, and let your ideas come to life in glorious, messy colour.
Your trainer will be there for any tools, paint or whatever you need and music of your choice to get your group in the mood for art.

IMPRESSIONISM - PAINT LIKE CLAUDE MONET

FAUVISM - PAINT LIKE PEPLOE
